Please Read Through if you are in Archer or Gainesville and want to help those affected by Hurricane Michael: Florida Nazarene Family, "At this moment, Hurricane Michael is bearing down on our family in the panhandle area as I type this. Panama City First. Panama City Hispanic, Port St. Joe, and others are in the direct path of this violent storm. Your Florida District Team is preparing now for how and when we will respond. Until the storm passes, there is no way to know the extent of the damage and what needs there will be. Two things that we do know will be useful are cases of bottled water and tarps to cover roofs and damaged structures. We as a district family are beginning to collect this items throughout the rest of the week and I encourage you and your local churches to do the same. We are coordinating drop off point across the district so we are able to effectively pick up and distribute to the areas of greatest need. Pastors, NMI Presidents, local leaders, if you would, encourage your local church to donate cases of water and tarps of all sizes knowing that we will be asking for other resources (food, cleaning supplies, non-perishable items) once we have a damage assessment later this week, early next week. Depending which area is closest to you, here are four (4) drop off locations for the cases of water and tarps. You can drop off materials @ 13327 SW State Rd. 45 Archer otherwise known as Archer Church of the Nazarene and I will see to it whatever comes in will get to our church in Lake City that is a central drop off point." Pastor Eric Skelton Lead Pastor Kissimmee First FL NMI President If you would like to volunteer to go and help, leave me your information or PM. If there is enough interest we'll make a trip up for a few days to do what we can to help. I am sure there is a lot of need. Pastor Rich
